Institute for Student Health

Thank you for your support. As a non-profit organization, we cannot do what we do without your help. Even a small donation helps us improve student health.

If you want to support a project or our development, donate online or contact us at

How your donation helps those we serve:

  • $50 covers the cost of food for one of the four weeks in our Healthy Family Cooking Course, in which we empower family members by teaching them to cook affordable delicious and nutritious meals by budgeting, meal planning and extending ingredients.
  • $100 equips us with a dance instructor for one week of our 4-week Ballroom Dance Class, where we teach rumba, foxtrot, salsa, waltz and swing to students who lack fitness options in their school or community.
  • $250 offsets the cost of an ISH Fellow for a week’s worth of work. Our Fellows are passionate, motivated and conscious college students interested in food, health, environment, fitness, education and social justice. We need them, and they need a way to survive.
  • $500 helps establish a dual-use community-school garden in neighborhoods that lack access to fresh and healthy food. By bringing schools and their neighbors together, we provide cross-generational and multi-cultural lessons and experiences that enrich the entire community.
  • $1,000 supports a 10-week Farmers’ Market Tour, in which we provide a health information booth at farmers’ markets that serve low income members of the community. In addition to offering health tips, healthy recipes, and cooking demonstrations using only market ingredients, we teach kids eco-crafts ranging from milk carton bird houses to newspaper flowers and rock art.
